NEWS ➢ Huge Atlantis Update Added to DC Universe Online

The free-to-play, DC Comics-themed MMORPG for PC, PS4 and Xbox has just added its most exciting episode yet. Announced 4 months ago, the gorgeous underwater world of Atlantis is finally accessible today, by swimming your way into DC Universe Online‘s Episode 33. With special time-limited Events running for everyone, there couldn’t be a better time to discover the new marvels of DC Universe Online.

The Atlantis Episode

Atlantis, this once beautiful undersea paradise, has become a source of great concern, entering a dark era as Corum Rath is set to take the throne. Players are to be actively involved by doing everything they can to assist the underground resistance in Atlantis for a chance to save the kingdom. The new update has been summarized as follows:

  • Atlantis consists of a large-scale episode and event, with level-agnostic event versions of content available for a limited time.
  • The episode features new and returning heroes and villains, including Aquaman, Mera, Aqualad, Ocean Master, Corum Rath, Murk, and more.
  • The storyline includes a variety of singleplayer and multiplayer adventures set for the first time in the undersea kingdom of Atlantis.
  • The episode launches with new player rewards, including new gear, styles, base items, and feats.

Membership vs Non-Membership

DC Universe Online has a mixed subscription, paid DLCs and free-to-play model, with some of the content and features being locked into a monthly membership plan or paid DLCs. However, for a limited time, special “Event” versions of all areas and content of Atlantis will be available to all players, once they reach level 10, something that can done in no time. These so called Event versions are to be found in the Events tab of your “On Duty” menu.
