Popular VR battle royale shooter Population: One by BigBox VR, Inc. is going free-to-play on Meta Quest 2 / Pro starting March 9, 2023, in addition to receiving a new content update for all players to enjoy.

Population: One is often referred to as the number 1 battle royale shooter on virtual headsets. Available on Steam and Occulus (Quest, Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro) the game is a long time favourite among VR FPS players who enjoy the flying, climbing and building gameplay features. Starting March 9, 2023 the publisher will remove the $30 price tag and make it free instead.
New content update
– For the FIRST time ever, a Sandbox map will be entering the Squads Evolving Map (replacing Outpost Hill).
– Match-make into “”Classic Squads”” on our Original Map from Season 1.
– Improved gun/character/world colors and resolution, real-time shadows and more!
– Battle against the improved AI bots! The AI now dynamically changes difficulty based on your skill level and even comes with a single player progression reward system.
– New players and existing lower-skill players will automatically match-make into similar skill leveled lobbies to play and learn, separate from veteran POP1 players.
– The Rocket Launcher will now be available as an accessory item in all Sandbox modes.
– The new store catalog will have an updated interface and over 100 new character and gun skins available on March 9th. – New items and skins will be added in the future.
